Vases, jugs
and bowls:
Inspired by the still life paintings of Morandi, and by the colours of the sky, the seashore, precious stones, plants and trees.
Thrown on the wheel using white earthenware or buff stoneware clay, and then
glazed with a smooth semi-matt earthenware glaze of my own formulation with the texture of eggshell. I also use a stoneware crystalline glaze which produces richly interesting surfaces with streaks and crystals.
I use a wide palette of colours, some
subtle, others more vivid, depending on season and inspiration. Some
examples are: blues: duck egg, slate grey, lavender, sapphire; greens:
olive, pistachio, golden, apple, jade, forest. Warm rich colours are plum and rose, and I also like the more monochrome charcoal grey and ivory.
Sizes range from a small bottle at 12cm high, the tallest being 32cm, and bowls up to 30cm diameter. Prices are from £20 - £100. Please contact me for further details.
